BioAcoustic Research & Development (BARD)

Bioacoustics, simply put, is the study of the sounds that animals make — how they produce them and how they use them to communicate. A broader definition includes the exploration of the effect of the human soundscape upon animals.

BioAcoustic Research & Development is a unique partnership of musician Lisa Spector and sound researcher Joshua Leeds. With her deep knowledge of the Western classical repertoire and her lifetime
love affair with dogs, Lisa was the true inspiration for BARD. Joshua Leeds has an interest in all things sonic and vibrating.

BARD is research-centric and practical in application. Its mission is to provide audio programs specifically for the health, well-being, and longevity of our animal and human friends.
