It’s Earth Day and I’m once again reminded of all that I have to learn from my dogs. They are masters at connecting with the Earth. Sanchez and Gina prompt me to take regular breaks from work and get outdoors for walks, meals, naps, and even to… well, smell the roses.
In honor of Earth Day, I decided to not use my car today. There was no shortage of walks for them. But, instead of driving down the hill to hike the coastal trails, we walked the road right outside our front door.
Honoring the earth is also a business goal at Through a Dog’s Ear. When we launched our first CD in 2008, Music to Calm your Canine Companion Vol. 1, we decided to pay extra in production for CD packaging made from paper instead of plastic. We continue to use the digipak design in all of our CD’s, instead of a traditional jewel case, even though it increases our production cost. Additionally, all CD’s are made in the U.S.A. And we also now sell them as downloads.
How are you honoring Earth Day today or any day? What have you learned from your dogs about connecting with the earth?
Have you tried Sound Therapy for your dogs? Through a Dog’s Ear is the first music clinically demonstrated to calm the canine nervous system.
