Feeling Dog Blessed after Thanksgiving

It’s been a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, filled with lots of dog activity and time with Sanchez and Gina. As I write this, I’m enjoying the sounds of Sanchez’s snoring in the background and Gina lying comfortably by his side.

The picture above was taken on Thanksgiving Day, and they are particularly thankful that I brought them home turkey from my Thanksgiving meal. Being a vegetarian for over 20 years, they don’t smell meat being cooked in my house. So, it was a nice surprise for them. Gina enjoyed the turkey at her agility trial this weekend, where she earned her Novice FAST title and ran a 2nd place clean run in Open JWW (Jumpers with Weaves). Sanchez earned his turkey by showing off his paw lifting trick to my fellow agility friends. He didn’t complain about the extra attention either.

Nine months ago I sold my music school of 14 years so that I could devote my full time attention to Through a Dog’s Ear. I’m very grateful that Through a Dog’s Ear continues to positively impact the lives of canines around the world. I never could have known, just a few years ago, that combining my passions for music and dogs would so significantly contribute to canine health and behavior.

Our mission is to improve the sound environment for all dogs – and their people. This is why we offer free and low-priced Dog’s Ear soundtracks to shelters, rescues, and canine households that seek natural, non-pharmaceutical remedies for canine anxiety issues.

I hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend. While your tummies may be full, all ears are probably hungry for “simple sound”. Holiday hustle bustle can stress dogs and their people. Through a Dog’s Ear recordings are psychoacoustically designed to support a balanced nervous system for 2- and 4-leggeds alike. (Listen to sound samples here.)
