Two years ago today I adopted Gina. Previously, I had always been a solo dog household and struggled with the decision to get a second dog for years. I’m so grateful that I worked through my fears, because adopting Gina was one of the best decisions of my life.
I believe each of our pets comes into our life to teach us different lessons. Gina has reminded me that life is so much better when you are happy over the smallest things, such as:
- Waking up in a bed every morning
- Creating playtime
- Doing work you love
- Connecting with others of all species
- Dinner time
- Company at the door
- Tummy rubs
- Beach walks
- Snuggle time
- Finding the greatest toys made by nature
Honestly, she is the happiest dog I have ever had. Everything is just good all the time. And, she is a constant reminder for me to count my blessings and find joy in simple moments. It took Sanchez many months to really accept that she was here to stay. She’s still more crazy about him than he is about her, but it has never bothered her. In fact, she probably enjoys curling up in bed with him even more because of it.
