National Paw and Foot Day!

Today is National Paw and Foot Day!

SERIOUSLY???

National Paw and Foot Day?

Well…. I just made it up. But, it is Mashable’s third annual Social Media Day. And, after seeing an absolutely fabulous photo of the bottom of human feet touching the bottom of two paws on the Life with Dogs Facebook page, I knew I had to create “National Paw and Foot Day”. Due to copyright laws, I can’t post the magical photo here, but here’s the link to the photo. It received nearly 30,000 likes!!! Pretty sure it’s because people sensed the feeling of connection between human and dog.

I started browsing through my photos of Sanchez and Gina. I’ve got just a few thousand. It always makes me smile when I look at the picture of Sanchez’s paw on my foot. He’s not known to cuddle, so when he does, it’s very memorable. We were lounging on the deck together, enjoying the sunshine and I was feeling a sense of timelessness that I imagine he feels most of the time.

No schedule.

No agenda.

Nothing to do except BE.

For a moment in time, I knew what it felt like to be part dog.

Truly a magnificent feeling!

Then tonight, I opened the piano lid and found a clicker on the keyboard. Seriously! Not kidding this time. Quite certain Sanchez and Gina are trying to tell me that I can earn the rewards of their snoozes if I stepped away from my computer keyboard and started playing the piano keyboard.

Gina is even using her paw to make sure I stay at the piano.

And if her paw doesn’t do it, surely her expression will. You think?

Please!

Please!

Will you play?

Please!

With that look, how could I resist?

While the Piazzolla is not from the Through a Dog’s Ear recordings, I’m hoping my human blog readers will enjoy it. After all, before I started recording music for dogs and their people, I was performing concerts just for people.

    Very beautiful Lisa!
I listened while gazing out my parents guest room window, looking over the waters and trees of the Olympic Peninsula. Now if only the construction across the way hadn’t been sounding off!
